Citrus Lesions

The similar layouts for these two images make it easier to compare the symptoms. Both diseases are characterised by brown lesions with chlorotic margins on the leaves and fruit. The viral lesions caused by citrus canker (left) have healthy-looking green centres, whereas the bacterial lesions (right) do not.

Citrus Leprosis: Ink painting/drawing of citrus leprosis on orange, caused by the either citrus leprosis virus nuclear type (CiLV-N), or citrus leprosis virus cytoplasmic type (CiLV-C).

The painting shows an orange branch, with 10 leaves, three twigs and one underripe green orange. The leaves and fruit have chlorotic pale yellow lesions, while the mature lesions on the leaves and lesions on the fruit contain brown necrotic (dead) regions.

The painting shows an orange branch, with seven leaves, two twigs and one underripe green orange. There are brown warty lesions, on the leaves and fruit, each surrounded by a yellow chlorotic halo.
