Aspergillus flavus

25 May 2025

I painted Aspergillus flavus stained with trypan blue. A. flavus is an important pest both pre- and post-harvest.

Two paintings of Aspergillus flavus, depicting the stipe (stem), vesicle (bud), metulae and phialides (cells on the vesicle surface), and conidia (spores). Rendered in dark blue to represent trypan blue, with black outlines.
