Millet Smut

Ink painting/drawing of pearl millet smut, caused by the fungus Moesziomyces bullatus (synonyms Sorosporium bullatum and Tolyposporidium penicillariae).

The painting shows a pearl millet seed head with a single leaf. The millet seeds are small and brown. The smut-infected grains are dark brown, and larger than the uninfected seeds.
