Ink painting/drawing of Microbotryum anther smut, caused by the fungi within the genus Microbotryum (formerly Ustilago).

The painting shows a red campion flower cluster with two open pink flowers, two partially open buds and several smaller closed buds and protective leaves. The fungus has coated the anthers with dark brown fungal spores.
