Top: early leaf spot of peanut, caused by the fungus Cercospora arachidicola.

Bottom: late lead spot of peanut, caused by the fungus Cercospora personata (synonym Phaeoisariopsis personata).

The peanut leaf paintings are both from 08 Jan 2023. I had considered releasing them on subsequent weeks, but decided against it.

The painting shows the adaxial (upper) and abaxial (lower) faces of a peanut lead side-by-side. Peanut leaves are compound, with four leaflets arranged as two pairs along the stem. The early leaf spot lesions are dark brown on the adaxial surface, with a chlorotic halo, and lighter brown on the abaxial surface. The late leaf spot lesions are brown on the adaxial surface, and black on the abaxial surface.
